"NALLA calls herself a "dissipated jazz-pop starlet". I'd say she's that kind of artist who has the power to turn absolutely any song (no matter how cheesy) into her own. In December, I played over and over again her cover of Lorie's "Toute Seule" recorded for Arte Concert, and I don't miss any of her videos (...). The reason I'm telling you about her today is to get you to follow her on Instagram or Twitch, but above all because she'll be in concert on January 12 at Louloute in Paris, January 24 at Docks 40 in Lyon and January 30 at the New Morning in Paris. Enough to really warm the little frozen hearts."

"There are few things in this life as bitter-sweet as concluding that you’re a sidepiece for someone you have fallen wholeheartedly for, which NALLA demurely explores in her latest single, Sidechick.

The smoky R&B single pays homage to the roots of the genre while replanting them through a fresh futuristic vision that resounds through the distorted vocals in the intro and the glitchy rhythm of the beats that allow the sensually convictive single to veer into the trip-hop arena.

If any single is going to compel you to stand by your convictions and muster enough self-esteem to walk away from an unworthy lothario who probably needs to spend thousands in therapy before he works through his inability to commit, it’s this orchestrally scored masterpiece."

Sidechick is now available to stream via Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music & YouTube Music.

Review by Amelia Vandergast

"When she was little, NALLA would perform improvised shows for her family, on rows of chairs, brothers and sisters, father and mother could revel in what could be considered the beginnings of an unheard-of pop music talent. This was followed by ten years of study at the Paris Conservatoire, where she was able to explore her various predispositions to the musical arts. From the traverse flute to the piano, NALLA explored the veins of classical music. She soon discovered her vocal abilities, learning to sing jazz music . She didn't seem to rush into anything, settling step by step into a world that would enable her to become a versatile singer. As a perfectionist, she decided to go to sound engineering school and began composing beats.

At her very first recording session in a Paris studio renowned for having already worked with Kanye West, she discovered even more about herself during a moment of intense excitement and motivation. Lulled by the sincerity of Ariana Grande or the modernity of Rihanna (...), the young Parisian lets herself be caught up in the musical madness, singing and composing in English while mixing a jazzy spleen with a bold urban energy."
